Eric Bank worked 19 years (1973 – 1992) at Eric Bank Consulting as a programmer, analyst, project manager, and New York-based self-employed consultant. His clients included Nestles, Bank of Tokyo, NBC, New York Telephone, Viacom, ITT, Insurance Service Office. Developed dozens of systems.

From 1993 to 2002, he worked as a director and business analyst at Citadel Investment Group. He produced specifications for numerous applications, including trade entry, stock lending, master feeder, and partnership accounting. Work products included feasibility studies, buy/build analysis, requests for proposals, business requirements, UML/workflows, object-oriented programming specifications, data design, and test plans.
